What a day! Yesterday, Franklin Tours made its way to the beloved St. Jacob's Market and Village — and what an experience it was for everyone on board. From the moment we arrived, the energy was infectious, the smells were irresistible, and the smiles were non-stop.
A special shoutout goes to our wonderful passenger Debbie, who called in to make sure we knew just how much fun the group had. Her enthusiasm said it all — and we couldn't agree more!
A Big Thank You to Driver Ron
No great tour happens without a great driver, and Ron delivered in every way. From a smooth, comfortable ride there and back, to his warm and professional manner throughout the day — Ron, you are truly appreciated! Many passengers commented on what a fantastic driver he is, and we couldn't be prouder to have him on the Franklin Tours team.
The Market: A Feast for the Senses
St. Jacob's Farmers Market is one of Ontario's largest and most beloved markets — and it did not disappoint. Stalls overflowed with fresh produce, handcrafted goods, baked treats, and local specialties. Our passengers came prepared, and they left with bags full of goodies!
Brooms were bought — the handcrafted kind you just can't find anywhere else.
Baked goods were devoured — fresh from the oven and absolutely irresistible.
Peanuts were stocked up on — a St. Jacob's tradition for many of our regulars!
Exploring the Village
Beyond the market, the charming village of St. Jacob's offered a wonderful stroll through unique boutiques, galleries, and the fascinating Mennonite Story Museum. The village's rich heritage and warm atmosphere made for a truly memorable afternoon.
Dinner at Anna Mae's — A Highlight of the Day
As the day wound down, the group gathered for dinner at the legendary Anna Mae's Restaurant — and it was nothing short of spectacular. Known for its hearty, home-style cooking, Anna Mae's delivered in every way.
The food was so delicious that most of us ate more than we likely wanted to. As one passenger put it: we waddled, rolled, and slowly made our way back onto the coach. Tired legs, full hearts, and bags stuffed with goodies — the perfect end to a perfect day.
The Ride Home
With everyone settled back on the coach, Ron guided us home seamlessly. Most passengers had tired legs and full stomachs — and many were already talking about coming back. In fact, the buzz about the September tour was so strong, we may need to bring more than one bus!
